Everyone has one place where their shoulders drop an inch. A bench by the water. The corner chair by the window in late afternoon. The kitchen at six in the morning, before anyone else is awake.
Most people find that place by accident, notice the feeling, and then forget to go back.
Pay attention the next time it happens. What was actually doing the work? Often it is not the view. It is the quiet, or the light, or simply being somewhere nobody can ask you for anything.
Once you know the ingredients, you can find them again. The library instead of the coffee shop. The long way home instead of the highway. Water, if water is what does it for you, and for a surprising number of people it is.
This is not escape. It is maintenance. A soothing environment gives your nervous system somewhere to set itself down for a while, and a body that gets to rest occasionally is far better at handling the hours that are not restful.
Find your place. Then go there on purpose, not by accident.
