Recently I found myself reflecting on a conversation about yoga, how the same practice can be experienced as simple movement or something deeply spiritual. From the outside, without knowing intention, it's easy to assign meaning. The difference isn't in the form, but in the intention behind it.
That idea has stayed with me as I think about relationships. Certain gestures like closeness, affection, and words that linger carry weight on their own. When intention isn't shared, we naturally understand actions by what they resemble, and sometimes that's where quiet confusion or hurt begins.
Lately, I've been learning to pause before assuming. To notice alignment between words and actions. To sit with my own feelings long enough to honor them. And when clarity isn't there, to recognize that creating a little space can be its own kind of care.
In this season of my life, I'm realizing how deeply intention matters, not just in what I offer, but in what I allow, and how understanding it can be a way of protecting the heart.
